Five Below planned in Vernon Place | News | meadvilletribune.com - Meadville Tribune

VERNON TOWNSHIP — One of the new stores going into Vernon Place has been identified.

The teen-oriented retail store Five Below will be making its way to the development.

Vernon Township supervisors gave approval at its final 2023 meeting Thursday to a slight modification to the Cocca Land Development project.

Ashley Porter, township engineer, explained there were some slight modifications, but it does change the configuration and wanted supervisors to be aware of it.Work also will be done in the area of Vernon Place. He noted Five Below will use 9,500 square feet.

In addition, there is another tenant for the building, but he was not at liberty to reveal the name yet. However, he did say it will be a restaurant and have a drive-thru window.

Five Below sells items costing $5 or less, but there are some products that could go up to $25.

It was founded in 2002 and has 1,400 stores nationwide. Its headquarters is in Philadelphia.

Porter said construction work is expected to continue through the winter.

In other business, supervisors formally approved the signature cards for all the township banking accounts to add the incoming supervisors John Karns and Scott Davis to those authorized to sign checks. All five supervisors plus the secretary/treasurer are on the card. All accounts require the secretary/treasurer’s signature as well as three of the supervisors.

Supervisors will have their reorganizational meeting Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m. followed by the regular monthly meeting, which usually is held the first Thursday of the month. This meeting will take the place of the one usually held the first Thursday.
