Women's Track & Field Earns Three First-Place Finishes at Yale Springtime Invite - Stony Brook University Athletics - Stony Brook Athletics

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Stony Brook University women's track and field team traveled across the Sound to compete in the Yale Springtime Invitational on Sunday in New Haven, Conn.
 
Senior Tara Hauff, junior Ally Turbush, and freshman Enyero Omokeni all highlighted the day for the Seawolves securing first-place finishes in their respective events. Hauff earned a first-place finish in the 1500 meter, Turbush in the 100 meter hurdles, and Omokeni brought home gold in the 200 meter.
 
In addition to the first-place finishes, Turbush and Omokeni both earned new personal bests. Turbush clocked in at 14.74 in the 100 meter hurdles and Omokeni crossed the line in 57.39 in the 400 meter.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Hauff earned a first-place finish in the 1500 meter with a final time of 4:43.57. Rebecca Clackett finished right behind in second with a final time of 4:46.64. Clackett also secured a new personal best.
  • Turbush secured a first-place finish and a new personal best in the 100 meter hurdles with a final time of 14.74.
  • Omokeni earned a first-place finish in the 200 meter with a final time of 24.99. She also secured a second-place finish and a new personal best in the 400 meter with a final time of 57.39.
  • Siara Guevara crossed the line in 1:05.13 to earn a third-place finish in the 400 meter hurdles. Paulina Gasparis followed behind in fourth with a final time of 1:06.97.
  • Rachel Ruggiero clocked in at 10:17.07 which was good for a third-place finish in the 3000 meter.
  • Nadja Ashley earned a fourth-place finish in the 200 meter with a final time of 25.30.

"Today was an opportunity to give some athletes that did not go to Penn a chance to race. Most of the group took advantage and performed very well. Some of the highlights were the efforts of Enyero (200/400), Miles(Hurdles), Matt(400), Tara , Rebecca, and Conor  (1500)," said head coach Andrew Ronan.

The Stony Brook University track and field team is back in action on Saturday, May 7, when they travel to St. John's for the Tom Farrell Invite.
