Kirkwood, Buck Finish In First and Second Place in Women's Pentathlon - Purdue Fort Wayne Athletics

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio. – Dylan Kirkwood and Sophia Buck took the top two spots in the women's pentathlon at day one of the YSU Mid-Major Invitational on Friday, Jan. 28 for the Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field team. 

Kirkwood totaled 3,280 points for first and Buck finished with 3,237 points for second.

In the pentathlon, Kirkwood took first in the high jump (1.61 meters) and long jump (5.19 meters), second in the 60-meter hurdles (9.24 seconds), fourth in the shot put (9.58 meters), and eighth in the 800 meter run (2:41.22).

Buck finished first in the 60 meter hurdles (9.01 seconds), fourth in the 800 meter run (2:34.56), fifth in the high jump (1.52 meters) and long jump (5.05 meters), and seventh in the shot put (9.16 meters).

The women's distance medley relay team of Brooke Neal, Brayden Langdon, Kathy Potter, and Madison King won with a time of 12:24.54. The time ranks fifth in program history.

The second day of the YSU Mid-Major Invitational starts at 9:45 a.m. with field events. Track events will start at 10:30 a.m.
