MURRAY, Utah (KUTV) — Multiple agencies responded to reports of shots fired outside of the Fashion Place Mall in Murray Saturday afternoon.
The Murray City chief of police told 2News that one person received a minor gunshot wound as a result of this incident.
Despite reports that circulated the internet, an on-scene officer confirmed that the situation did not involve an active shooter.
A cashier who witnessed the incident said she saw a group of people leaving The Container Store irritated who then began arguing with each other before firing several shots in the mall parking lot.
Photos from the scene show parked cars with shattered windows and bullet casings on the pavement.
Mall-goers unaware of what was happening took it upon themselves to shelter-in-place in store closets.
